Giants optimistic Pagan can avoid DL stint

Right fielder may be able to play next series vs. Blue Jays

SAN FRANCISCO -- Outfielder Angel Pagan could return from a left hamstring strain Monday or Tuesday during the home series against the Blue Jays.
San Francisco originally expected Pagan to play in the current series against the Rockies. He is making progress, but if he can't return early next week the Giants will "probably have to make a call" about placing him on the disabled list, manager Bruce Bochy said.
Pagan was removed in the seventh inning against the Mets on May 1 and has not played since. The 34-year-old was batting .315 through 26 games.
Gregor Blanco and recent callup Mac Williamson have been sharing time in left field in Pagan's absence.
