SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday he will undergo an ablation near his heart to address the incidence of atrial fibrillation.
Bochy missed a two-game series April 18-19 in Kansas City for another ablation, which is a minor heart procedure. The surgery was scheduled to be performed in San Diego, Bochy said.
Bochy, 62, underwent a heart procedure in February 2015 to insert two stents, and he was hospitalized last summer with an undisclosed illness that forced him to miss a game in Miami.
Widely considered a future Hall-of-Fame candidate, Bochy has won three World Series titles and has amassed 1,853 regular-season victories, second among active managers to Washington's Dusty Baker (1,863).
