GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Friday afternoon's Cactus League game between the Indians and White Sox at Camelback Ranch ended in a 5-5 tie.
Jacob Turner threw two scoreless innings and the White Sox hit three solo homers. The Indians rallied for three in the seventh, with the help of a group of Tribe youngsters, to take a temporary 5-3 lead. In the bottom of the ninth, though, Hector Sanchez hit a two-run single to tie the game up.
Two of the solo homers, from Brett Lawrie and Jason Coats, came off of Trevor Bauer. The Cleveland starter, who projects as the fourth man in the talented Indians rotation, allowed those two runs on three hits over two innings while striking out two. He did not issue a walk.

"The ball came out of [Bauer's] hand pretty good," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "He fell behind 2-0 and 1-0 and threw the fastball. They scored the first three runs on the solos, but I thought it was pretty crisp. [Cody Allen was] good. I was really pleased. He stayed in his delivery. Really, he didn't overthrow. I thought he looked really good."

Turner, meanwhile, made his first appearance since two Minor League rehab starts for the Cubs last season in working his way back from elbow and shoulder injuries that cost him the 2015 campaign. Turner struck out two and walked one, taking the regular rotation spot of Chris Sale, who threw live batting practice on Friday.
"He did great," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said of Turner. "It was the first time to really see him extended, get out there and get a couple of innings in. It was nice to see. It had some life on it, location and all that stuff. When you see a guy for a first time, you see him out there, composure and everything else, he looked great. He really did."

"Yeah, it was just good to get back out there," said Turner, who threw another inning in the bullpen after his start. "It has been a while, and to go back out there, even if I've done it a couple of times before, definitely felt a little bit weird. But it was just fun to be back out there competing."
Adam LaRoche's homer in the sixth gave the White Sox a temporary one-run lead. The three dingers marked the first three of Cactus League action for the White Sox in their second game.

Allen threw a scoreless inning of relief for the Indians, while Mike Clevinger yielded two hits and two walks over two innings but didn't give up a run. Roberto Perez had two hits to lead the Cleveland offense, while Francisco Lindor had one hit and an RBI.
Up next for Indians: Ace Corey Kluber is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut on Saturday, when the Indians host the Giants in a 3:05 p.m. ET tilt at Goodyear Ballpark. Righty Josh Tomlin and lefty TJ House -- both vying for the fifth spot in the rotation -- are each penciled in to work two innings after Kluber's appearance. Outfielder Will Venable is tentatively slated to serve as the DH in his Tribe debut.
Up next for White Sox:Carson Fulmer, the White Sox No. 1 prospect per MLBPipeline.com, makes his Cactus League debut Saturday against the Royals in Surprise, Ariz., with a 2:05 p.m. CT first pitch against the defending World Series champions. Fulmer threw during an intrasquad game on Monday. The right-hander takes the rotation spot of Jose Quintana, who will throw in a B game Saturday morning.
