"A balanced approach," manager Torey Lovullo said of what he's seeing from Lamb at the plate. "Staying through the ball, there's no hustle to his swing and it's been very productive with the results. I know you work hard for those moments and to have runs like this, and he deserves it."

Worth noting
• While he did pitch well on Saturday, D-backs left-hander Robbie Ray was concerned by the fact that the Giants did not seem to be chasing some of his offspeed pitches.

"Maybe I was tipping my pitches or something," Ray said. "I need to go look at it because I felt like I threw some really good offspeed and they were just spitting on it. They weren't really swinging. That's something I'll go look at."

• While Archie Bradley starts against the Giants on Sunday at Scottsdale Stadium, fellow right-hander Shelby Miller will get his work in during a Minor League game.

Ace Zack Greinke will start in a Minor League game on Monday morning, which is an off-day for the D-backs. Doing that will keep Greinke on track to start Opening Day against the Giants.

Yasmany Tomas (lower back) has missed the last three games and will be held out of Sunday's contest as well. Lovullo did say that Tomas' condition was improving.

• D-backs first baseman Paul Goldschmidt started for Team USA on Friday night and was 0-for-1 with a walk.
