Strangio on Statcast, Angels' pursuit of Ohtani

September 18th, 2018

Jonathan Strangio grew up on Long Island as a Yankees fan, and found himself working as a summer intern for the Mets after a shoulder injury ended his pitching career during college. He moved to the Angels in 2012 and was promoted to assistant general manager after Billy Eppler was hired in 2015.
Strangio sat down with MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on this week's episode of Executive Access to discuss the increasing influence of Ivy Leaguers in MLB front offices, how Statcast™ has changed the game, and the Angels' intense (and successful) pursuit of last offseason.

On Executive Access, executive reporter Feinsand provides a unique look at the people building Major League teams by engaging in candid interviews with front-office personnel from around MLB. Each week, you'll find out how they broke into the game, why they do what they do and how they envision the future of baseball. Look out for new episodes on Tuesdays.
