A couple of top prospects hit big home runs in a close game between Triple-A Lehigh Valley and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
No. 51 overall prospectGary Sanchez (Yankees No. 3) hit a two-run blast in the first inning to give Scranton-Wilkes-Barre an early lead, but No. 3 overall prospect J.P. Crawford (Phillies' No. 1) and the IronPigs left the park with a win.

Crawford chose the perfect time to hit his first Triple-A homer as he went deep to right for a go-ahead shot in the 10th inning that proved to be the decisive run in Lehigh Valley's 4-3 win. The homer, Crawford's fourth of the year, was his first since May 19 and came in a 2-for-5 night.
Sanchez's homer was his ninth of the year and marked his fourth consecutive game with an RBI. He later doubled and finished 3-for-5.

The rest of the best performances from top prospects Tuesday:
• No. 6 overall prospectDansby Swanson (Braves' No. 1) and Braves No. 3 prospect Ozzie Albies (No. 25 overall) helped lift Double-A Mississippi to an 8-7 win over Montgomery. Swanson went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and Albies went 2-for-4 with an RBI, stolen base and run scored.
• No. 9 overall prospectTrea Turner (Nationals' No. 2) pushed his average back over .300 and extended his hitting streak to six games with a 2-for-5 night for Triple-A Syracuse in a 6-4 win over Durham. Turner led off the game with a solo homer and has six this season, two shy of his career-high, which he set in 2015.
• Indians' top prospect Bradley Zimmer (No. 22 overall) went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs for Double-A Akron. Zimmer has eight hits in his last 19 at-bats. The 23-year-old has doubled in three of his last four games and has also homered twice in that span.
• Indians' No. 17 prospect Mike Papi hit his first career grand slam and added a triple in a 2-for-3 night for Double-A Akron. The left fielder had six RBIs in his club's 10-0 win.
"It was as good as you can feel," Papi told MiLB.com "I've just been doing a lot of work on my swing and it's starting to come through here a little bit."

• No. 40 overall prospect David Dahl (Rockies' No. 2) seems to be adjusting to the Triple-A level just fine. Dahl went 3-for-5 with a double for Albuquerque and is 6-for-10 in two games since his promotion from Double-A Hartford.

• No. 42 overall prospect Ryan McMahon (Rockies' No. 3) put together his second four-RBI game of the season for Double-A Hartford. The third baseman doubled and hit his fifth homer of the year as part of a 3-for-5 night.
• Astros' No. 15 prospect Jason Martin provided some post Fourth of July fireworks for Class A Advanced Lancaster, registering his second multi-homer game of the year. Martin has 15 homers this season, but his solo blasts weren't enough as Lancaster lost to Visalia, 10-6.
• Mikey White (Athletics' No. 20) began the night with four homers in 134 career games and ended it with six in 135 games. For the first time in his pro career, White went deep twice in the same game. White hit a solo homer to right center in the first, then hit one out to left center in the third as Class A Advanced Stockton topped Lake Elsinore, 6-3.
• Cardinals' No. 20 prospect Ronnie Williams tied a record for Class A Short Season State College with 10 strikeouts in his last start and although he wasn't able to match it, he still had a strong outing. The 20-year-old right-hander struck out five and gave up one run on three hits in 7 1/3 innings.
• Josh Taylor (D-backs' No. 24) was promoted to Double-A Mobile, showed up and threw a shutout. The 23-year-old lefty threw 65 of his 102 pitches for strikes as he carved his way through the Pensacola lineup. Taylor didn't walk a single batter, struck out five and gave up just a trio of singles.
• D-backs' No. 15 prospectDawel Lugo hit for the cycle as Class A Advanced Visalia topped Lancaster. Lugo homered in the second, tripled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth and singled in the ninth. The 21-year-old finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs and is hitting .310 through 76 games.
• Marlins' No. 24 prospectJeff Brigham tied a season-high with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 scoreless innings for Class A Advanced Jupiter. The right-hander walked one and gave up three hits. Brigham has given up three hits in each of his past two starts and has allowed one earned run over his last 12 2/3 innings.
• Parker Bridwell (Orioles' No. 16) was lights out in a rehab outing with the GCL Orioles. The 24-year-old gave up one hit and struck out six in three scoreless frames.
• Rhys Hoskins, the Phillies' No. 19 prospect, hit his 23rd and 24th homers as part of a 3-for-5, six RBI night for Double-A Reading. Hoskins has four homers in his last seven games and leads the Minors with 24, a career-high.

• A day after hitting his first professional homer, Phillies' No. 25 prospect Jhailyn Ortiz went deep again as part of a 2-for-6 effort for the GCL Phillies.
• Yonhander Mendez's Triple-A debut went about as well as the Rangers' No. 13 prospect could have hoped. Mendez helped Round Rock to a 8-0 win as he threw five scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out seven.

• Scott Blewett (Royals' No. 6) carried a no-hit bid through five innings, but lost his chance for history in the sixth. The right-hander gave up one run on one hit and three walks in six innings for Class A Lexington.
• Tigers' No. 26 prospect Arvincent Perez set a career-high for hits and was a perfect 5-for-5 for Class A West Michigan in its 15-10 win. Perez, a catcher, is hitting .299 through 36 games and has 16 RBIs, three of which came Tuesday.

• Twins No. 23 prospect Felix Jorge spun one of his best starts of the season for Class A Advanced Fort Myers. Jorge threw 62 of his 95 pitches for strikes as he tossed seven scoreless frames. The right-hander gave up six hits and walked three in a 14-0 win.
