OAKLAND -- A's outfielder Khris Davis, sent home Tuesday night with a stomach ailment, remained out of the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against the Astros.
Oakland manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday morning Davis was at the Coliseum and "feeling a little better" but did not expect him to play.
Davis joined the 40-homer club Sunday in Texas and is just one shy of 100 RBIs. Frank Thomas was the last Athletic to drive in 100 runs, in 2006, when he totaled 114.

• Sonny Gray (forearm) is set to throw to hitters in a simulated setting at the Coliseum on Saturday. Barring any issues, he could then be in line to make one more appearance before the season ends.
• Right-hander J.B. Wendelken is a candidate for Tommy John surgery, after an MRI revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow, Melvin said.
The A's reliever, who spent the balance of the season at Triple-A Nashville, will seek a second opinion before moving forward.
