The prospects at the Padres' two Class A affiliates continued to perform in impressive wins Wednesday night.
Outfielders Franchy Cordero and Edwin Moreno had two homers apiece, and Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore had a total of seven homers as the Storm buried San Jose, 17-3, with a 16-hit attack at The Diamond.
And pitchers Jacob Nix, Logan Allen and Will Headean combined to allow one unearned run on six hits as Class A Fort Wayne scored a 6-1 win at Lansing.
Center fielder Cordero (.286) was 3-for-5 with his first two homers, four RBIs and three runs scored for 8-6 Lake Elsinore. Moreno (.214) had two homers in five at-bats for four RBIs.
Shortstop Javier Guerra (.224) was 3-for-4 with his second homer in three games, two RBIs and three runs scored. Third baseman River Stevens (.143) drove in four runs with a home in four at-bats and scored two runs. Designated hitter Josh Van Meter (.263) was 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Right-handed starter Martires Arias (3.60 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) on four walks and three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. Left-hander Brad Wieck (2-0, 2.00 ERA) allowed a run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings. Right-hander Colby Blueberg (1.13) struck out three in two perfect innings.
The right-handed Nix started for Fort Wayne and allowed an unearned run on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in three innings to lower his ERA to 5.87.
Left-hander Allen (2-0, 0.90 ERA) allowed two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings. Left-hander Headean (0.90) struck out two in two perfect innings to get his second save.
First baseman Brad Zunica (.295) drove in two runs with his third homer of the season in four at-bats. Left fielder Jhonatan Pena (.194) was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple with a run scored. Center fielder Michael Gettys (.264) was 2-for-5 with a double, a RBI and stole his ninth base of the season.
Three players moved in the Padres' system Wednesday. Right-handed starting pitcher Brandon Morrow and infielder Chase Jensen were transferred from Lake Elsinore to Double-A San Antonio. Infielder Diego Goris went from San Antonio to Triple-A El Paso to take the place of infielder Jemile Weeks, who was recalled by the Padres.

RHP Derek Eitel (1.29) allowed a hit with a strikeout in two scoreless innings. 2B Carlos Asuaje (.300) was 2-for-4 with a triple. 3B Ryan Schimpf (.241) doubled in three at-bats and scored a run. 1B Jason Hagerty (.278) had a RBI double in three at-bats.
