Lucas Giolito named International League Pitcher of the Week

Class AAA Charlotte right-handed pitcher Lucas Giolito has been named the International League Pitcher of the Week for the period of May 22-28.

Giolito, 22, tossed a 7.0-IP no-hitter on May 25 in Game 1 of a doubleheader vs. Syracuse, the fourth in Charlotte franchise history, and the first since Andre Rienzo on July 25, 2013 vs. Indianapolis (7.0 IP).

Giolito is ranked by MLB.com as the No. 31 prospect in baseball and Chicago's No. 4 prospect. Baseball America ranks Giolito as the No. 40 prospect overall and No. 4 in the White Sox organization.

The Knights are the only team in the IL to earn three weekly awards this season. Outfielder Willy Garcia (April 6-9) and second baseman Yoan Moncada (May 1-7) have claimed IL Batter of the Week honors in 2017.
