MILWAUKEE -- Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has a good motivator for his offseason workouts: His kid brother. Both Jonathan (@JLucroy20) and his younger brother David Lucroy (@The_Lukey_Poo) have dotted their Twitter feeds in recent weeks with workout clips, as each prepares for Spring Training at the Brewers' complex in Phoenix. Jonathan Lucroy has parts of six seasons with the Brewers under his belt. David is entering his second season as a pitcher in the club's Minor League chain.
Their most recent entry was Thursday from Eugene Kwarteng, a trainer at the brothers' gym in Lafayette, La.

Jonathan Lucroy is coming back from a 2015 campaign in which he was limited to 103 games by an early-season broken toe and a late-season concussion. David Lucroy, who was drafted twice by the Brewers -- out of high school in 2011 and again out of East Carolina University in '15 -- made 15 appearances last year at Rookie-level Arizona.
The brothers are, shall we say, competitive.

"If we can get past the fight they might have on the pitcher's mound, it ought to be very, very interesting," their father, Steve, told MLB.com after David Lucroy was drafted in the 20th round in June.
The Society for American Baseball Research found 15 sets of brothers who formed the pitcher-catcher battery in a Major League Baseball game, most recently Larry and Norm Sherry of the Dodgers from 1960-62. The Cardinals' Walker and Mort Cooper are the only brothers to do so in a World Series (three straight from 1942-44) or an All-Star Game (1943-44).
The Lucroys have discussed adding their names to the list.
"My brother, he cares about me a lot, and he takes care of me," David said after the Draft. "I just hope I can get up there quick enough and throw to him."
