SEATTLE -- All six Major League coaches on manager Scott Servais' staff will return next season, the club announced Thursday, while Triple-A Tacoma hitting coach Scott Brosius will be added as a seventh assistant coach.
Bench coach Tim Bogar, hitting coach Edgar Martinez, pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre Jr., third-base coach Manny Acta, first-base coach Casey Candaele and bullpen coach Mike Hampton will all return for their second season under Servais, while quality assurance coach Chris Prieto returns in a slightly different role as special projects coach.
"Our coaches played a huge role in creating the culture, both on and off the field, that we enjoyed last season," said Servais. "I am pleased that all will return in 2017 as we continue to work toward our shared goal of winning a World Series in Seattle."
Brosius, an 11-year Major League veteran with the A's from 1991-97 and Yankees from 1998-2001, will be on a big league coaching staff for the first time. But he worked as Tacoma's hitting coach last year after eight years as head coach at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
Brosius, 50, was an American League All-Star in 1998 and Gold Glove winner in '99 for the Yankees.
Bullpen catcher Fleming Baez and batting practice pitcher Nasusel Cabrera will also return in 2017.
