Free-agent closer Mark Melancon has multiple offers of four years and $60-plus million on the table, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The Giants, Nationals and possibly one other team have reportedly made those offers to the right-hander, who turns 32 in March.
San Francisco is thought to be the front-runner for Melancon, who is one of three elite closers on the market along with Kenley Jansen and Aroldis Chapman. A four-year, $60 million contract would be the largest ever for a closer, but Jansen and Chapman would likely command a larger deal.

The Pirates traded Melancon last summer to the Nationals, for whom he posted a 1.82 ERA and 17 saves in 30 appearances. Washington would like to bring him back in an effort to repeat as National League East champions in 2017.
The Giants' bullpen struggled mightily in '16, particularly at the back end, leading the Majors with 30 blown saves. San Francisco's relief corps also blew two saves in a Division Series loss to the eventual World Series-champion Cubs.
Melancon was named an All-Star in three of the last four seasons, and led the Majors with 51 saves in '15.
