Yelich, who was 1-for-5 on the night, was replaced in the bottom of the eighth inning after he lifted a fly ball out to left field in the top of the inning.
"It gradually got worse throughout the game," Yelich said. "Hopefully, it's just a couple of days and I'll be good."
The Marlins have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks, and Yelich could be added to the list. Tyler Moore filled in when Yelich was replaced. Ichiro Suzuki is an option to start in center on Wednesday afternoon, if Yelich is not available.
The 25-year-old wasn't able to pinpoint exactly what happened, stating it was a "combination of things."
"It got to the point where running, it just wasn't happening," he said. "It's tough to go out there and play center when that happens. We'll see how it feels tomorrow."
For the season, Yelich's slash line is .256/.323/.381 with six home runs and 21 RBIs.
In the seventh inning, he snared a line drive off the bat of Ryon Healy to end a bases-loaded threat.
"I didn't have to move," Yelich said. "He hit it right to my chest."
