NEW YORK -- The Marlins are sending a couple of power pitchers, including Jarlin García and Jeff Brigham, to the Arizona Fall League.
Rosters for the Fall League were announced on Wednesday, and eight players and one coach will be part of the Mesa Solar Sox.
Pitchers representing the Marlins will be Garcia, Brigham and James Buckelew from Class A Advanced Jupiter, along with right-hander Drew Steckenrider from Triple-A New Orleans.
Third baseman Brian Anderson and outfielder Yefri Pérez were selected from Double-A Jacksonville, along with outfielder Dexter Kjerstad from Jupiter and infielder Austin Nola from New Orleans, who is eligible to be active only on Wednesdays and Saturdays because he is a taxi-squad selection.
Paul Phillips, the hitting coach for New Orleans, will serve as the Solar Sox's hitting coach.
Garcia and Anderson are the Marlins' Nos. 3 and 4 rated prospects, respectively, according to MLBPipeline.com, and Brigham is No. 19.
Garcia, a left-hander who had a callup to the Marlins earlier in the season but didn't pitch, has spent most of the year at Jacksonville, where he was 1-3 with a 4.54 ERA in nine starts. He's currently on Jupiter's roster.
Brigham is a hard-throwing right-hander whose fastball has been clocked in the 97-98-mph range. With the Hammerheads, he has a 3.82 ERA with 111 strikeouts in 117 2/3 innings.
Buckelew has posted a 2.36 ERA in 91 1/3 innings at Jupiter.
Steckenrider has pitched at three levels this year, advancing from Jupiter to Jacksonville and now New Orleans. In 38 games, the reliever has a 2.17 ERA, striking out 71 in 49 2/3 innings.
Perez is a speedster who is on the Minor League disabled list. The outfielder is hitting .259 with 39 stolen bases with the Suns. He appeared in two games for the Marlins before being sent back to Jacksonville.
Anderson is an emerging prospect who opened the season at Jupiter before reaching Double-A, where he is batting .243 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs.
Kjerstad, a left fielder, has shown power with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs at Jupiter, which is a tough league on hitters. He's batting .231.
Nola has a .258 batting average with the Zephyrs, and he's collected six home runs and 41 RBIs.
