Marlins recall Urena; designate Narveson

April 21st, 2016

MIAMI -- The Marlins made a couple of roster moves prior to Thursday afternoon's series finale against the Nationals.
Right-hander Jose Urena was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and lefty Chris Narveson was designated for assignment. Urena was 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA in 10 innings this season for New Orleans.
"You have to be ready and prepared for that," Urena said of his promotion to the Majors. "And when you get the chance, do the right thing."
Urena went 1-5 with a 5.25 ERA in 20 games, including nine starts, for the Marlins in 2015. But his role now will be out of the bullpen, and that's fine for the 24-year-old Dominican.
"It's a little different for me how you prepare when you're a starter and when you're a reliever," Urena said. "There is a difference, but I can handle it."
The Marlins also outrighted right-hander Dustin McGowan to New Orleans and reinstated lefty Raudel Lazo from the 15-day disabled list. Lazo was optioned to Class A Advanced Jupiter.
