ATLANTA -- One of the Mets' most heralded international signings in recent history is a step closer to the big leagues.
The organization on Thursday promoted No. 2 prospect Amed Rosario to Double-A Binghamton, after the shortstop hit .309 with three homers and eight triples in 66 games for Class A Advanced St. Lucie. The Mets originally inked Rosario to a $1.75 million deal as a 16-year-old back in 2012.

Now 20, Rosario maintains one of the highest ceilings of any player in the Mets' organization. He'll join another such prospect, former first-round Draft pick Dominic Smith, at Binghamton.
The Mets' top four prospects -- Smith, Rosario, Gavin Cecchini and Brandon Nimmo -- are all now playing in the upper Minors.
