Five Padres prospects homer on Sunday

Right-handed starter Michael Kelly and two relievers combined for a four-hit shutout and shortstop Javier Guerra had three hits for Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore on Sunday, when all three Padres affiliates playing won.
Five players in the Padres' farm system homered. Kelly, 23, the 48th overall pick of the 2011 Draft, allowed four hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over seven innings as Lake Elsinore scored a 7-0 win at San Jose. Kelly is 1-3 with a 5.83 ERA. Left-hander Taylor Seidenberger (3.71 ERA) and right-hander Colby Blueberg (1.93) each had a strikeout in a perfect inning for the 13-18 Storm.
Guerra, 20, rated the No. 2 prospect in the Padres' system, was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a RBI to raise his batting average to .236. Center fielder Franchy Cordero and left fielder Edwin Moreno also had three hits apiece for Lake Elsinore. Cordero (.262) was 3-for-5 with a double, a RBI and two runs scored. Moreno (.238) was 3-for-5 with a triple and a RBI. Right fielder Luis Tejada (.176) was 1-for-4 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs scored.

TRIPLE-A EL PASO (14-15): CHIHUAHUAS 9, Fresno 4. CF Manuel Margot (.269), who is ranked the top prospect in the Padres' system, was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. 2B Casey McElroy (.396) was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. RF Hunter Renfroe (.299) was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored. SS Nick Noonan (.308) had a homer in three at-bats with a walk and two runs scored. 2B Carlos Asuaje (.298) was 2-for-4 with a RBI. Starting LHP Christian Friedrich (4.66 ERA) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. LHP Leonel Campos (4.97) allowed two runs on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in 1 1/3 innings. RHP Jose Dominguez (2-0, 2.76) had a strikeout in two scoreless innings to get the win. RHP Derek Eitel (1.88) struck out one in a perfect ninth.
DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (10-20): Missions 7, CORPUS CHRISTI 4. SS Chase Jensen, who was hitless in 17 at-bats entering the game since being promoted to the Missions, was 2-for-4 with a homer, a steal and four RBIs. 3B Gabriel Quintana (.237) hit a two-run homer in three at-bats and LF Nick Torres (.242) homered in four at-bats. Starting RHP Fabio Castillo (3-4, 4.38 ERA) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings to get the win. RHP Jason Jester (4.50) allowed two hits with a strikeout in 1 2/3 innings to get his fourth save.
CLASS A FORT WAYNE (17-13): The TinCaps were idle, because the Midwest League doesn't play on Mother's Day.
