BALTIMORE -- Angels manager Mike Scioscia has an idea of how his starting rotation will look after the All-Star break, but he isn't ready to announce it just yet.
"We have plans, but we're going to wait and see how everyone comes out of the games here," Scioscia said ahead of the Angels' series finale against the Orioles.
"Some guys will throw [bullpen sessions] today, so we'll evaluate where guys are, because it's our one opportunity to recharge some guys, and where it's needed, we'll take advantage of it. We have it pretty well mapped out, but it's not totally done yet."
Jered Weaver, who hasn't pitched since Wednesday, and Hector Santiago, who started Thursday, were expected to throw bullpen sessions Sunday.
Nick Tropeano has impressed in two starts since returning from the disabled list July 5. In Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Orioles, Tropeano threw six innings, allowing five hits and one run with one walk and eight strikeouts, registering a no-decision.
Tim Lincecum, who started Sunday's series finale vs. the Orioles, has fallen short of expectations since debuting with the Angels last month. The 32-year-old entered play Sunday having thrown fewer than five innings in three of his four starts.
"He has to find a pitch selection combination that is more in line with where he is right now, as opposed to where he was four or five years ago," Scioscia said. "He's really an evolving new pitcher. He's got plenty of fastballs to be effective because of the way he can change speeds and spin the ball, so he has to find the right combination, and I think he will."
Rehabbing left-hander Tyler Skaggs will not join the Angels out of the break, but he could return to the Majors later in July. The 24-year-old has thrown five innings in each of his last two rehab starts with Triple-A Salt Lake City.
The Angels will enter the break more than 10 games below .500 for the first time since 1994 (38-51). They host the White Sox and Rangers for a six-game homestand out of the break.
