Solis improving, but questionable for playoffs

On DL with shoulder inflammation, Nats lefty needs to throw sim game before returning

ATLANTA -- Nationals left-hander , who is on the disabled list because of shoulder inflammation, said the soreness in his shoulder is gone.
Solis is going through a throwing program, but the team is not rushing to get him back on the field. It helps that the Nationals have a big lead in the National League East race. Before he is activated, Solis will have to pitch in a simulated game.
"You can't come back in five or six days," Solis said. "We are progressing really well. Everything is looking good and I'm feeling strong, and that is the most important thing."

The question is, will Solis be ready for the postseason? Manager Dusty Baker is not sure.
"Does he have enough time for the playoffs? I don't know, I have to talk to him. I have to talk to our trainers," Baker said.
Before the injury, Solis had a 2.35 ERA and was the only lefty in the bullpen who consistently gave the Nationals more than one inning an outing. Without question, he would like to play in the postseason.
"I'm itching to get back out there, for sure, but we are taking our time with it and making sure I come back the right way," Solis said.
Worth noting
• Shortstop was expected to rejoin the Nationals late Friday night. He was in California the last two days to witness the birth of his baby boy, Ty Daniel Espinosa. During Espinosa's absence, started in Friday's game against the Braves.
