Wieters gets X-rays on foot following HBP

NEW YORK -- Manager Buck Showalter brought a thin bench into the Orioles' 2-1 loss in the series opener against the Yankees on Monday night, with battling an illness and nursing a right hamstring strain.
It could be getting thinner. Catcher received X-rays on his right foot after the game, as he was hit by a 94-mph fastball from in the first inning. He stayed behind the plate for the entire game, but Showalter said he would've inserted a pinch-runner if his catcher had reached base again.
"[Wieters] was real sore," Showalter said. "A little anxiety about what it's going to show."
Wieters, a 2016 All-Star, is hitting .250 with nine homers. , a career .216 hitter, is listed behind him on the depth chart and has played in 27 games this season.
