TORONTO -- The Orioles clubhouse isn't the same as the team returns from the All-Star break.
This day has been a long time coming for the Orioles' players, who had become resigned to the fact that their teammate Manny Machado was going to be dealt at some point this year.
"We'd kind of been bracing for it for a little while," reliever Zach Britton said. "I think we were just prepared for it to happen. We had a lot of time to kind of say our goodbyes, kind of a drawn-out goodbye to him, but I'm happy for him. It's going to be a good opportunity for him."
Machado addressed saying goodbye to his former teammates and the organization he played seven seasons for at a news conference prior to the Dodgers' game in Milwaukee on Friday night.
"It wasn't fun, wasn't easy, but everyone knew it was coming, and we were all trying to anticipate it a little bit," Machado said. "Orioles will always have a piece of my heart. They gave me the opportunity to play in the big leagues and give me my dream."

Even with all the rumors that had circulated for months, the trade was still tough to take for Machado's former teammates. The 26-year-old had become a staple on the left side of the infield for Baltimore, racking up 162 home runs with a .283 batting average in 860 games.
"It's probably going to be a little weird here," Trey Mancini said. "I mean we all knew [it] was likely going to happen just given how the year has gone, but it doesn't really make things that much easier."
Manager Buck Showalter echoed his team's sentiments.
"It'll be different, but life goes on," Showalter said. "He was a big part of a lot of things we did here."
With Baltimore well out of the playoff race, the team is expected to make multiple moves before the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline.
"You never want to hear the word rebuild," Chris Davis said. "But at the same time, you have to understand [that] something has to change. For us to go out there and continue to do what we've been doing and continue to lose, it would be foolish for us not to try something different."
Since coming back from the disabled list on June 11, Britton has seen his name among the many players rumored to available.
"I try not to think about it until it happens," Britton said of the trade rumors. "I'm sure I'll have a lot of thoughts at that time, but I just want to continue to pitch well as long as I'm here."
Worth noting
The Orioles are expected to have right-hander Andrew Cashner back to start on Sunday against the Blue Jays. Cashner had been out with a neck strain since his July 10 outing against the Yankees, in which he allowed five runs in 6 1/3 innings. This season he has a 4.56 ERA in 18 starts.
