Source: O's agree to terms with Palmeiro, son of Rafael

The Orioles have agreed to terms with seventh-round Draft pick Preston Palmeiro, a source told MLB.com on Friday.
The deal, which the club has not commented on, is for $204,700, which is slot value for the 211th overall pick.

Palmeiro, the son of former Oriole and 20-year Major League veteran Rafael Palmeiro, hit .337/.412/.539 with nine home runs and 55 RBIs for N.C. State, where he was a three-year starter at first base. He is a left-handed hitter and is listed at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds.
Rafael Palmeiro, a four-time All-Star, played two stints with the Orioles, from 1994-98 and from 2004-05, making his final Major League appearance Aug. 30, 2005.
