ARLINGTON -- Paul McCartney, a former member of the Beatles and one of the most successful composers and performers of all-time, is coming to Globe Life Park in Arlington.

McCartney will perform at the park on Friday, June 14, with tickets going on sale on Thursday, Dec. 13. Globe Life Park and Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, are the latest venues added to the music legend's 10-city "Freshen Up" tour.

This will be the first time Globe Life Park has hosted a concert tour stop since opening as the Ballpark in Arlington back in 1994. The venue has hosted concerts before and after Rangers games, but McCartney's presence may be rivaled only by internationally renown pianist Van Cliburn, who performed the national anthem on Opening Day in 1994.

"We are ecstatic to host Sir Paul McCartney at Globe Life Park in Arlington as part of his Freshen Up tour," said Rangers vice president of operations and events Sean Decker. "This will be a historic event that fans will remember for years to come as the venue approaches its final season as a Major League Baseball park."

McCartney's concerts consist of nearly three hours nightly of the greatest moments from the last 50 years of music -- dozens of songs from his solo, Wings and the Beatles catalogues that are fan favorites around the world.
