PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies put the finishing touches on their radio broadcast team Monday.
The TV broadcast team, which could include John Kruk, figures to be next.
The Phillies announced they had agreed to a five-year extension with radio play-by-play announcer Scott Franzke, carrying him through the 2021 season. Larry Andersen and Jim Jackson will be in the booth with him again next year.
"We couldn't be happier to extend our relationship with Scott," Phillies senior vice president of marketing and advertising sales David Buck said in a statement. "He and Larry Andersen have been entertaining Phillies fans for over a decade and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future."
"My family and I are very excited and I just can't imagine doing this job anywhere else at this stage of my career," Franzke said. "I'm humbled and thankful to the Phillies for wanting this relationship to continue for another five years."
The Phillies also extended their partnership with CBS Radio and 94WIP through 2017. They have been partners since 2004.
"We're thrilled that SportsRadio 94WIP is continuing the partnership as the radio home of Phillies baseball," CBS Radio senior vice president and market manager David Yadgaroff said. "The Phillies have become part of the fabric of WIP and we're excited for the 2017 season to begin."
Sources told MLB.com earlier this month that Comcast SportsNet has been in negotiations with Kruk about joining the TV broadcast team as a color analyst, alongside play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy and fellow analyst Ben Davis. Matt Stairs left the booth as an analyst to be the Phillies' hitting coach.
Talks with Kruk have continued this month, but it is unclear if an announcement is imminent.
