Crawford among Phillies' 16 NRI additions

Club's top prospect, No. 2 overall, joined by fellow touted up-and-comers Hoskins, Kingery

The Phillies have invited 16 players to Major League Spring Training as non-roster invitees, including top prospect J.P. Crawford, the team announced Wednesday.
Crawford, 22, is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the Minor Leagues by MLBPipeline.com. The 16th overall pick in the 2013 Draft by the Phils, Crawford hit .250 with seven home runs and 43 RBIs in 123 games as a shortstop for Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley last season.
Joining Crawford among the non-roster invitees are , , , , , Rhys Hoskins (Phillies' No. 12 prospect), Scott Kingery (No. 13), , Logan Moore, , Chace Numata, Cam Perkins, Andrew Pullin, and Brock Stassi.
Hoskins, 23, was named the Eastern League Rookie of the Year in 2016 and led the league with a .943 on-base plus slugging percentage. The first baseman hit .281 with 38 home runs and 116 RBIs in 135 games for Double-A Reading.

Hinojosa, 30, was a member of the Phils' Opening Day roster in 2016, but he appeared in just 10 games for Philadelphia last season. The right-hander went 0-1 with a 3.27 ERA before sustaining a hand contusion.
Holaday, 29, split time with the Rangers and Red Sox in 2016. The catcher batted .231 in 43 combined games.
Ramos, 32, went 3-3 with a 6.04 ERA for Texas last year, but he recorded a 3.21 ERA from 2012-15 in 165 relief appearances with the Rays and Angels.

Arano, a 21-year-old right-hander, recorded a 2.26 ERA in 46 combined games with Class A Advanced Clearwater and Double-A Reading last season.
