Phillies Minor League review: May 30-June 5

Players of the Week
Player CF Roman Quinn, Reading… Quinn, 23, batted .407 (11-27) with three doubles, two home runs, a team-high seven RBI and a stolen base. He slugged .741 and posted a 1.134 OPS. Quinn hit safely in five of his six games, recording three three-hit games in that stretch. Since April 29, he is batting .346 (38-127) over 31 games, raising his season average by 94 points. Quinn, who ranks second in the Eastern League in stolen bases (25) and runs (43), was selected by the Phillies in the second round of the June 2011 draft.
Pitcher - RHP Ricardo Pinto, Reading... The 22-year-old Pinto made one start for the Fightins, allowing only two runs (one earned) in 6.0 innings pitched while striking out a season-high seven batters. He has tossed at least 6.0 innings and allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his last nine starts. The Venezuela native was signed by the Phillies as an amateur free agent on December 28, 2011.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs - International League North Division…30-26, 4th place… Lehigh Valley won two series last week, taking two of three from Norfolk before winning three games of a four-game set with Charlotte. The IronPigs have moved within 1.5 games of the first-place Rochester Red Wings.
Top hitting performers - 1B Brock Stassi batted .375 (9-24) with a pair of doubles, a home run, five RBI, four walks and a .464 on-base percentage… C Andrew Knapp hit safely in all five of his games, batting .400 (8-20) with a double, homer, two RBI and three multi-hit games… C Logan Moore had nine at-bats and recorded hits in seven of them (.778), including a double and a home run… OF Nick Williams slugged three home runs and drove in seven runs in six games. He also doubled twice, tripled and scored eight runs.
Top pitching performers - RHP Edubray Ramos allowed one run in 5.1 innings over three games in relief, picking up his first save of the season with Lehigh Valley. Ramos has a 0.54 ERA (1 ER, 16.2 IP) with the IronPigs… RHP Michael Mariot posted 3.0 scoreless, hitless innings in three games out of the bullpen.
Reading Fightin Phils - Eastern League Eastern Division …38-19, 1st place… The Fightins won five of their seven games, with all five wins coming consecutively. Reading outscored their opponents 44-24 in those five victories, winning by walk off home runs in two of them.
Top hitting performers - CF Roman Quinn was named Phillies Minor League Player of the Week after batting .407 (11-27) with three doubles, two home runs, seven RBI and a stolen base. He slugged .741 with a 1.134 OPS… OF Dylan Cozens recorded three more extra base hits (2 2B, HR), bringing his league-leading total up to 33 for the season. He batted .348 (8-23) in six games… OF Aaron Brown reached base at a .476 clip, walking four times while batting .353 (6-17) with a double, triple and three RBI.
Top pitching performers - RHP Ricardo Pinto made one start, striking out a season-high seven batters while allowing two runs (one earned) in 6.0 innings of work on June 3. He was named Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Week… RHP Mark Leiter allowed two runs (one earned) in his lone start as well, surrendering just three hits in 5.0 innings.
Clearwater Threshers - Florida State League North Division…32-23, 2nd place… Clearwater played only five games last week, getting swept in a short two-game series with Tampa and picking up a pair of wins in three games with Jupiter. They have gone 22-15 in division games this season.
Top hitting performers -  1B Zach Green played in four games, batting .333 (5-15) with three doubles and two RBI… SS Malquin Canelo drove in four runs, batting .313 (5-16) in five games played.
Top pitching performers -  RHP Tyler Viza made one start, pitching 6.0 innings while allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits while walking one and striking out six batters… LHP Elniery Garcia did not walk anyone and allowed two runs in his 5.2-inning start against Jupiter. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five straight starts
Lakewood BlueClaws - South Atlantic League Northern Division…20-35, 7th place… The BlueClaws began the week with a 6-1 win over West Virginia, but they then lost five straight to finish the week 1-5. Lakewood will look to end the losing streak as they wrap up their homestand with three games against Lexington.
Top hitting performers - 3B Jan Hernandez hit two home runs and knocked in five runs. He went 7-for-21 (.333) with a .619 slugging percentage… OF Jiandido Tromp recorded a team-high five extra-base hits (3 2B, 2 HR), and also scored five runs.
Top pitching performers - RHP Drew Anderson tossed 5.0 scoreless frames, allowing only one hit while striking out six batters. In three starts he has a 1.72 ERA (3 ER, 15.2 IP) and 20 strikeouts… LHP Tyler Gilbert allowed a run in 6.0 innings in his start on May 30, scattering six hits and walking one… RHP Luke Leftwich pitched a season-high 7.0 innings in his only start of the week, holding West Virginia to two runs on six hits.
