Phillies need support in NL All-Star balloting

June 15th, 2016

PHILADELPHIA -- If Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera makes the National League All-Star team, he will need to find a way other than by fan vote.
Herrera is not among the top 15 NL outfielders in votes, which means he would have to be selected by the NL manager or NL players. Herrera entered Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays hitting .311 with six home runs, 22 RBIs. He is ninth in the NL in batting average, third in on-base percentage (.415) and sixth in walks (39). Herrera is 15th among NL outfielders with an .844 OPS.
