ATLANTA -- The start of Thursday night's game between the Braves and Pirates was delayed because of heavy rainfall that hit Turner Field approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. The game is scheduled to start at 8:25 p.m. ET.

Fortunately, the rain began to fall and the tarp was placed on the field before either of the starting pitchers -- Pittsburgh's Ryan Vogelsong and Atlanta's Tyrell Jenkins -- had come on the field to begin their pregame warmup activities.
