PITTSBURGH -- Two Pirates left Saturday's game against the Cubs, but it didn't derail Pittsburgh from rolling to a 12-6 win.
Second baseman Josh Harrison was removed from Saturday's game against the Cubs with left foot discomfort in the third inning, and outfielder Matt Joyce left in the sixth with left quad tightness.
In the second inning, Harrison was hit in the left foot by a 90 mph sinker from Chicago pitcher Jon Lester. He stayed in the game initially and played the field in the top of the third, but Joyce pinch-hit for Harrison in the bottom of the third. Sean Rodriguez moved from right field to second base in the top of the fourth, and Joyce went to right field.
Then in the sixth, Adam Frazier took over for Joyce in right field.
Hurdle said the injury to Harrison had been checked out and didn't look serious.
"I believe the tests are done. Everything's fine. He's got foot discomfort," Hurdle said.
Hurdle couldn't pinpoint when Joyce had tweaked something, though Joyce was walking around the clubhouse postgame.
