Klentak: Time running out for Quinn

Outfield prospect still dealing with left elbow injury

August 3rd, 2017

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- figured to be the first outfielder promoted from Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
But and got calls instead because Quinn suffered an injury to the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow in May. Quinn has been sidelined since, and it is unclear if he will play again this season.
"We're running out of time," Phillies general manager Matt Klentak said Wednesday evening at Angel Stadium. "There's about a month left in the Minor League season. We're hoping to get him on the field by the end of the season.
"Whether he's on the field during the regular season or not, I'd expect we'd try to give him some at-bats in winter ball to try to make up for some of the lost time this year."
Quinn is currently ranked as the Phillies' No. 12 prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com. He has shown his potential, including last September with the Phillies, but injuries continue to be a problem.
