Dodgers prospects go back-to-back in win

PHOENIX -- Pitching prospects Zach Lee of the Dodgers and Carson Fulmer of the White Sox dueled on even terms Saturday night in a game the split-squad Dodgers won, 5-4, with help from Adrian Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and prospects Cody Bellinger and Willie Calhoun, who hit back-to-back homers in the sixth inning.

The Dodgers got on the board in the first inning, when a wild pitch from top pitching prospect Fulmer allowed Jusin Turner to come home from third. Chicago tied the game in the second inning on a double by Matt Davidson, and single by J.B. Shuck and sacrifice fly by Tyler Saladino.

The Dodgers moved ahead in the third on a double by Turner and an RBI infield single by Austin Barnes. The White Sox tied the game again in the fourth on an RBI infield single by Austin Jackson.

Jose Abreu cut the lead with a solo home run in the seventh and Tyler Saladino homered in the eighth.

Lee went 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision, while Fulmer was removed after 4 1/3 innings.

Fulmer assigned to Minor League camp

"For me going into Spring Training I was always competing for a job and nothing changed when they sent me down," said Lee, who was sent down to Minor League camp last week.

Up next for the Dodgers: The Dodgers host the Reds at Camelback Ranch Glendale on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. PT, with Kenta Maeda starting for the Dodgers and Alfredo Simon pitching for Cincinnati on MLB.TV. In his first Major League camp, Maeda has been the most consistent of the Dodgers starting pitchers this Spring with a 1.32 ERA.
