ARLINGTON -- Shin-Soo Choo's two-run single capped a decisive three-run fourth inning as the Rangers rallied for a 4-3 win over the Orioles on Monday night at Globe Life Park in a makeup of a game postponed on April 17.
Rangers closer Sam Dyson worked out of a first-and-third jam with one out in the ninth, striking out Matt Wieters and getting Jonathan Schoop to ground into a fielder's choice for the final out, to pick up his 14th save. Right-handers Shawn Tolleson and Tony Barnette threw 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief behind starter Derek Holland. Tolleson picked up the win.
"We just made pitches when we needed to," Tolleson said. "We were able to limit the damage and kind of keep their hits to singles."
It was the Rangers' third straight come-from-behind win and their fourth straight one-run win. The makeup game also counted as its own series, extending the franchise record of 10 straight series wins.
"We go into these games with plans. Plans how we're going to attack hitters, plans how we're going to attack pitchers," Banister said. " ... It's never really clean, if you will. The effort [the players] put into studying the other team, the work that these coaches put in preparing, keeping them engaged in the game. They allow them to play the game, but also give them insight to encourage them that it doesn't always take the big blow, it doesn't always take the three-run home run."
Orioles starter Kevin Gausman gave up a homer to Ian Desmond in the third and ran into trouble in the fourth. Bobby Wilson drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly before Choo delivered the go-ahead single off the right-field wall.

"That's the most frustrating thing. To get that lead early in the game, you've got to be able to shut the door right there," Gausman said. "I've got to be able to shut the door and not give it back like I did."
The O's jumped on Holland early, scoring three runs in the second. J.J. Hardy, Adam Jones and Joey Rickard each added run-scoring hits, with Hardy and Rickard hitting doubles. Holland lasted just 4 1/3 innings. It was his second consecutive start in which he didn't make it through the fifth inning.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Lead out of troubled waters: O's leadoff hitters reached in the seventh and eighth innings, but Barnette pitched around them. In the sixth, he hit Chris Davis with the heart of Baltimore's order coming up. But Davis was erased on a 4-6-3 double play. Hardy led off the seventh with a single, but Barnette struck out two of the next three hitters.
Beltre picks up Holland: After a rugged second, things looked to be getting worse for Holland in the third when Mark Trumbo drew a walk followed by singles from Wieters and Schoop to load the bases. Holland then struck out Hardy, before Adrian Beltre turned a run-saving double play to end the inning off the bat of Nolan Reimold -- touching third base and firing an off-balance throw to the chest of first baseman Mitch Moreland.

Rangers rally in the fourth: Trailing 3-1 in the fourth, Prince Fielder led off with a walk, and after a strikeout by Rougned Odor, Elvis Andrus and Moreland singled to load the bases. Wilson then worked a 10-pitch at-bat that resulted in a sacrifice fly to center. Jones' throw missed the cutoff man and allowed Andrus and Moreland to advance to second and third. "Even when we get down, we've seen it. It's been the battling at-bats, the grinding at-bats, the attacking early," Banister said.
Stolen opportunity?: Reimold led off the sixth with a base hit, but he was caught trying to steal second base with Paul Janish at the plate. Janish eventually reached with a single. Instead of runners at first and second with none out and Davis poised to come to bat, Tolleson got Jones and Rickard on flyouts.

"Ever since Dyson kind of took over the role of closer, what he's done is remarkable. And he's been asked to do a tremendous amount and he's handled the workload really well," -- Tolleson, on Dyson, who took over for him as closer on May 18 and has converted all 12 saves opportunities

Orioles: Right-hander Tyler Wilson (3-5, 4.16 ERA) will get the ball on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. ET in the opener of a two-game Interleague set against the Padres at Camden Yards. Wilson is coming off eight shutout innings in a win against the Red Sox last Thursday.
Rangers: Right-hander Colby Lewis (6-0, 2.81) will take the mound on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. CT in the opener of a two-game set against the Reds at Globe Life Park. Lewis took a perfect game into the eighth and no-hitter into the ninth in his last start against the A's on Thursday.
