Rays activate Odorizzi, option Garton

MIAMI -- Jake Odorizzi was activated from the disabled list on Monday, paving the way for the right-hander to start Monday night's game against the Marlins at Marlins Park.

To make room for Odorizzi on the 25-man roster, the Rays optioned right-hander Ryan Garton to Triple-A Durham.

Garton was recalled on April 22 and had been used sparingly out of the Rays' bullpen, going 0-1 with an 11.57 ERA in three appearances covering 2 1/3 innings.
