Rays announce 2017 Spring Training schedule

The Rays announced their 2017 Spring Training schedule on Friday, with the first workout for pitchers and catchers set for Feb. 14. The first full-squad workout will be on Feb. 19, and the team's first game is set for Feb. 24 on the road against the Twins.
The Rays, entering their ninth season at Charlotte Sports Park, play their first home game of the spring on Feb. 25 against the Pirates. The Rays' Grapefruit League home games during Spring Training will start at 1:05 p.m. ET.
Spring Training information
Tampa Bay's Spring Training schedule includes multiple games against each of their fellow American League East teams, with a number of those games at home. The Rays will host the Red Sox three times (Feb. 26, March 15 and March 25); the Blue Jays once (March 12); the Orioles twice (March 4 and March 29); and the Yankees twice (March 14 and March 23).
The Rays will also play a home game against the Colombian national team on March 8, scheduled for 6:35 p.m. ET -- their one non-daytime game at home -- which will be followed by postgame fireworks.
Outside their division, the Rays' schedule also includes home games against the Pirates, Twins, Phillies and Tigers. In total, the Rays are slated to play 34 Spring Training games -- 18 at Charlotte Sports Park and 16 on the road.
