Red Sox players scheduled to attend 'Baseball Winter Weekend'

More than 20 current players and over a dozen alumni are scheduled to attend "Baseball Winter Weekend" at Foxwoods Resort Casino, the second annual Red Sox fan festival taking place Friday, January 22 - 24 in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

More than 20 current players and over a dozen alumni are scheduled to attend"Baseball Winter Weekend" at Foxwoods Resort Casino, the second annual Red Sox fan festival taking place Friday, January 22 - 24 in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
 
The full list of current players scheduled to attend includes Matt Barnes; Mookie Betts; Xander Bogaerts; Jackie Bradley, Jr.; Rusney Castillo; Roenis Elias; Ryan Hanigan; Heath Hembree; Brock Holt; Brian Johnson; Joe Kelly; Tommy Layne; Deven Marrero; Henry Owens; Dustin Pedroia; Rick Porcello; David Price; Hanley Ramirez; Noe Ramirez; Eduardo Rodriguez; Travis Shaw; Blake Swihart; Christian Vazquez; and Brandon Workman.
 
Wade Boggs will make his first public appearance at Winter Weekend since the club announced his number 26 will be retired. Joining Boggs at Winter Weekend are Roger Clemens; Billy Conigliaro; Dennis Eckersley; Dwight Evans; Sam Horn; Bruce Hurst; Fred Lynn; Steve Lyons; Pedro Martinez; Jim Rice; Luis Tiant; and Jason Varitek.
 
Manager John Farrell and six of his coaches will be on hand throughout the weekend and will help coach the kids' clinics on Sunday. Ruben Amaro, Jr.; Chili Davis; Dana LeVangie; Torey Lovullo; Victor Rodriguez; and Carl Willis will all be present.
 
The weekend begins Friday night with the introduction of the participating players, followed by a fan-interactive Town Hall Meeting. Red Sox Principal Owner John Henry, Chairman Tom Werner, President Sam Kennedy, President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski, Senior Vice President and General Manager Mike Hazen, and Manager John Farrell are scheduled to participate. The event will be televised by NESN on Sunday, January 24, at 8 p.m.
 
Throughout the day on Saturday, fans will have an opportunity to get autographs and take photos with players, and see the three World Series Trophies and Red Sox artifacts. Fans can also test their fastball at the Red Sox pitching booth, play wiffle ball on the indoor field, meet Wally the Green Monster and, for the first time, his sister Tessie, and attend hour-long panel discussions throughout the day. NESN will broadcast from Winter Weekend from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday bringing viewers live interviews with Red Sox players and leadership. Those attending the event are invited to record personalized television highlights of historic Red Sox moments and participate in a casting call for NESN Clubhouse.
 
Winter Weekend concludes Sunday with a Wally-themed breakfast for children and families, and a series of baseball clinics for kids conducted by Red Sox coaches and alumni.
