GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Rockies top prospects David Dahl and Trevor Story hit home runs as the Rockies went on to take an 9-3 victory over the Reds on Sunday afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark.
Colorado starter Christian Bergman worked two scoreless innings with one hit and one walk. Jon Moscot, who is vying for a spot in the Cincinnati rotation, gave up four runs (three earned) over three innings in his second start of spring with no walks and three strikeouts.

"I think today he wasn't sharp," Reds manager Bryan Price said of Moscot. "You don't see it very often where they struggle to locate a fastball. Today Jon really struggled to locate his fastball and fell behind in the count and kept throwing fastballs. They were able to line a couple of them up."
Following Dahl's one-out single in the top of the first inning, Mark Reynolds hit an RBI single to left field and Ben Paulsen added a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 Rockies lead. That ended a four-game, eight-inning scoreless streak for Reds starting pitchers.
After D.J. LeMahieu reached on shortstop Calten Daal's one-out throwing error in the third inning, Dahl -- a former Rockies first-round Draft pick -- hit a Moscot first pitch to left field for a two-run homer and 4-0 lead. Reynolds returned in the sixth and led off with a home run to left field against Pedro Villarreal.
Rockies right-hander Jeff Hoffman, acquired from the Blue Jays in the Troy Tulowitzki trade, made his spring debut with two scoreless innings, one hit and two strikeouts.
Against Kyle Freeland in the Reds' sixth, outfield prospect Phillip Ervin slugged a 1-0 pitch to center field for a leadoff homer. In the seventh inning, second-base prospect Alex Blandino provided the Reds with a two-run homer to right field against Rockies reliever Nelson Gonzalez.
In the top of the eighth, Story hit his second home run of spring off right-hander Stephen Johnson.
Rockies up next: Righty Jon Gray pitched out of trouble in his first inning and dominated in his second against the D-backs in his spring debut. Gray will make his second start on Monday at 1:10 p.m. MT against the Cubs at Salt River Fields. Righty Carlos Estevez, a power arm at the A and Double-A levels and in the Arizona Fall League last year, hopes to continue his impressive spring.
Reds up next: Offseason trade acquisition Jose Peraza, who is seeking to land a spot on the 25-man roster, is 0-for-7 through his first four games of spring. Peraza will be starting at shortstop Monday at 3:05 p.m. ET when the Reds host the Angels at Goodyear Ballpark. Joey Votto and Jay Bruce will also be in the lineup as rotation candidate and prospect Cody Reed appears in his second game but first start of spring.
