June 7th, 2017

Hall of Famer Rod Carew is coming back to Minnesota for the first time since having a heart transplant in December.
Promoting Carew's Heart of 29 campaign, which assists the American Heart Association to raise awareness for heart disease, Carew will be at Target Field on July 3 when the Twins host the Angels.
The Twins will also honor the 40th anniversary of Carew's 1977 American League MVP season, and the 50th anniversary of his 1967 American League Rookie of the Year season that day.
The Twins will wear a "Heart of 29" patch on their jerseys during the game and the first 10,000 fans will receive a poster of Carew from his TIME magazine cover in 1977. Carew and his wife, Rhonda, will hold a press conference at 3 p.m. CT before the game and he will visit both broadcast booths during the game.
The Carews will return to Target Field on Aug.18 for the Twins' game against the D-backs for "Donor Day" and the Twins Hall of Fame Weekend. Twins players and coaches will wear the "Heart of 29" or "Donate Life" patch and the first 10,000 fans will receive a Summer of '77 Carew Bobblehead that day.
