ATLANTA -- Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn is immensely talented, but he continues to have problems staying healthy.
He left Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Braves at Turner Field in the top of the sixth inning with a strained left oblique. Quinn spent more than six weeks on the disabled list with the same injury from June through August with Double-A Reading.
"It's never good news to have another injury," said Quinn, who injured himself on a swing in the fifth. "I'm getting sick of injuries. It's just frustrating."
Asked if his season is likely finished, he said, "It depends on how I feel tomorrow."
The injury forced Phillies manager Pete Mackanin to put Darin Ruf in left field. Peter Bourjos was not with the team as his wife is having a baby. Tyler Goeddel also was not available because of a concussion.
Ruf could not catch a ball hit to left-center field in the eighth inning that put runners on second and third with one out.
"It should have been caught," Mackanin said. "If Quinn is out there he catches it."
Quinn entered the season the No. 99 prospect in baseball, according to MLBPipeline.com. He joined the Phillies on Sept. 11 and is hitting .263 (15 for 57) with four doubles, six RBIs, eight walks, 18 strikeouts and five stolen bases in 15 games.
Quinn has suffered assorted injuries in the past (strained left quadriceps, broken right wrist, ruptured right Achilles), which had limited him to no more than 88 games in any of the previous four years.
