There were notable hitting and pitching performances throughout the Padres' Minor League system on Saturday night.
Offensively:
• Third baseman Gabriel Quintana hit his 14th and 15th homers and drove in five runs for Double-A San Antonio. Quintana and right fielder Nick Schulz each hit two-run homers in the 10th inning to lead the Missions to an 11-7 win at Frisco.

• Third baseman Ty France was 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs as High Class A Lake Elsinore scored an 11-2 victory over Inland Empire in San Bernardino. He is hitting .341 for the Storm since being promoted from Low Class A Fort Wayne.
• Third baseman Carlos Belen had four hits, including a walk-off, 15th-inning RBI triple for Fort Wayne.
Pitching:
• Seventeen-year-old Omar Fernandez allowed two hits with no walks and recorded five strikeouts over seven scoreless innings for the Dominican League Padres. The left-hander from Venezuela has a 0.58 earned run average.
• Hansel Rodriguez, the 19-year-old right-hander acquired by the Padres from Toronto last Tuesday in the trade that sent outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. to the Blue Jays, allowed two hits and three walks with two strikeouts in five scoreless innings with short-season Class A Tri-City in his debut in the Padres organization.
• Jose Castillo, a 20-year-old left-hander from Venezuela, allowed two hits with nine strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of relief for Fort Wayne.
Five of the seven teams in the Padres system won on Saturday.
There were two moves in the organization. Right-handed reliever Jason Jester was promoted from San Antonio to Triple-A El Paso. Left-handed reliever Elier Sanchez joined San Antonio from the Padres' extended spring training base in Arizona.
Meanwhile, the Padres announced that , the right-handed pitcher acquired from Miami in the trade, will have Tommy John surgery. Paddack had a 0.64 ERA in three starts for Fort Wayne with 23 strikeouts in 14 innings before getting hurt.
AROUND THE FARM
TRIPLE-A EL PASO (61-47) - Chihuahuas 6, LAS VEGAS 5: Second baseman/left fielder (.329) was 2-for-4 with his 25th double, his seventh homer and two runs scored. Second baseman Felipe Blanco (.250) was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, while right fielder Hunter Renfroe (.322) was 2-for-5 with his 28th double and an RBI. Shortstop (.325) was 2-for-4 with a walk, and third baseman (.276) was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Center fielder (.305) was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Right-hander (5-1, 4.70 ERA) started and allowed three runs on six hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in six innings. Righty Derek Eitel (3.19 ERA) and Jester (debut) each allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning. Right-hander (3.86 ERA) got his first save, despite giving up two runs on three hits and a walk in the ninth.
DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (19-17, 41-65) - Missions 11, FRISCO 7 (10 innings): Quintana (.254) was 2-for-4, while Schulz (.280) was 2-for-3 with his seventh homer, two walks and three runs scored. Left fielder Nick Torres (.282) had two doubles in five at-bats with an RBI and two runs scored. Center fielder Franchy Cordero (.297) was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored. Shortstop River Stevens (.257) was 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Righty Kyle Lloyd (4.01 ERA) started and allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings. Sanchez issued a walk with a strikeout in two otherwise perfect innings in his Missions debut. Right-hander (2.53 ERA) struck out two in a perfect inning. Righty Yimmi Brasoban (4-1, 2.28) allowed a run on two hits and a walk in an inning, but got the win. Lefty allowed a hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning.
HIGH CLASS A LAKE ELSINORE (21-15, 53-53) - Storm 11, INLAND EMPIRE 2: Center fielder Michael Gettys (.293) backed France, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored. Right fielder Franmil Reyes (.250) was 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and a run scored. Left fielder Edwin Moreno (.261) was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Designated hitter (.227) had a double and a triple in five at-bats for an RBI and two runs scored. Right-hander (3-3, 4.95 ERA) started and allowed a run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings. Righty T.J. Weir (1.69 ERA) allowed a run on two hits with a strikeout in an inning. Recently-promoted right-hander Angel Mejia (0.00 ERA) allowed two walks with two strikeouts in three hitless/scoreless innings to get his first save.
LOW CLASS A FORT WAYNE (14-21, 50-55) - TIN CAPS 4, Lansing 3 (15 innings): Catcher Austin Allen (.312) was 3-for-7 and singled and scored in the 15th on Belen's walk-off triple. First baseman Nick Vitter (.221) had a double in three at-bats with three RBIs and a walk. Designated hitter Taylor Selesky (.476) was 3-for-6, while right fielder Jhonatan Pena (.215) was 2-for-3. Righty Emmanuel Ramirez (4.74 ERA) started for Fort Wayne and allowed three runs on five hits with three strikeouts in seven innings. Righty Corey Kimber (3.90 ERA) allowed no runs on four hits with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings before Castillo entered the game.
SHORT-SEASON CLASS A TRI-CITY (1-4, 20-23) - VANCOUVER 5, Dust Devils 4: Shortstop Chris Baker (.308) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored and a steal, while third baseman Boomer White (.235) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a steal. Right fielder Luis Ascuncion (.219) had a double in three at-bats with a walk and a run scored. Southpaw Nathan Foriest (2.45 ERA) followed Rodriguez and allowed three walks with two strikeouts in a scoreless inning. Righty Dalton Erb (3.43 ERA) gave up three runs (two earned) on two hits and three walks in two-thirds of an inning. Righty Evan Miller (1-2, 2.95 ERA) allowed two runs (one earned) on three walks and no hits with a strikeout in two innings to suffer the loss.
ARIZONA ROOKIE PADRES (13-19) - REDS 3, Padres 2: Designated hitter Hudson Potts (.312) had an RBI single in four at-bats, while catcher Bryant Aragon (.162) was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Righty Jean Garcia (1-3, 3.00 ERA) started and allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings. Right-hander Starlin Cordero (3.38 ERA) allowed an unearned run on two walks and no hits with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings. Righty Jim McDade (1.69 ERA) issued a walk in 1 2/3 hitless/scoreless innings.
DOMINICAN SUMMER LEAGUE PADRES (22-26) - Padres 8, DIAMONDBACKS 2: Third baseman Eguy Rosario (.331) was 2-for-5 with a run scored, while catcher Janigson Villalobos (.268) was 0-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored. Right fielder Jaffe Garcia (.275) was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while DH Edward Burgos (.296) was 1-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Second baseman Kelvin Alarcon (.275) was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, a walk and a run scored. Righty Evan Powell (16.43 ERA) followed Fernandez and allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and two walks in an inning. Right-hander Jose Hernandez (5.30 ERA) walked two in a hitless/scoreless inning.
