Curry pays pregame visit to Astros' clubhouse

HOUSTON -- NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry paid a visit to the Astros' clubhouse prior to Friday's 6-2 loss to the Red Sox as a guest of Carlos Correa, who met Curry during Spring Training when the Warriors were playing in Orlando.
Curry, who sat out the Warriors' playoff loss Thursday in Game 3 to the Rockets at nearby Toyota Center with a sprained right ankle, spent about 25 minutes in the clubhouse visiting with the players. He emerged carrying an Astros cap and watched the game from the Diamond Club. He didn't talk to reporters.
"He came in the clubhouse and said hello and made his rounds," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "I guess he and Correa have struck up a friendship, and it's always nice to see elite athletes from other spots. Very rarely do you get to meet the best, and he's the best in his sport, certainly shooting the ball. I got the privilege to meet him and to shake his hand is a treat."

In February, Correa watched Curry score 51 points, including 10 3-pointers, in the Warriors' 130-114 win over the Magic in Orlando.
"It was great to have him here," Correa said Friday. "He's a great athlete and it was a great visit."
