Beltre, Lucroy lead Rangers' contingent in WBC 2017

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will have 10 players participating in the World Baseball Classic this spring.
Third baseman will be playing for the Dominican Republic, pitcher Sam Dyson and catcher will be with Team USA, catcher , second baseman and pitcher are playing for Venezuela, pitcher is playing for Puerto Rico and infielder is playing for the Netherlands.

In addition, Minor League left-hander Reiver Sanmartin is on the Colombia roster, and  -- who signed a Minor League deal on Monday -- will play for Canada. Sanmartin, 20, pitched for the Rangers' team in the Dominican Summer League last year.

The World Baseball Classic runs from March 6-22. Outfielder (South Korea), shortstop (Venezuela) and pitcher (Japan) are not participating due to medical concerns.
2017 World Baseball Classic rules
Beltre is playing for the first time since 2006. This will also be the second time for Lucroy, who was with Team USA in 2013, and Profar, who was with the Netherlands in 2009 as a native of Curacao.
