NEW YORK -- As Todd Frazier dressed at his clubhouse locker late on Wednesday afternoon, he wondered aloud how congested the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway might be between Yankee Stadium and his hometown of Toms River, N.J. It would be his second long drive of the day.
Frazier launched his first home run in his new uniform on Wednesday, a solo seventh-inning blast off Tony Cingrani in the Yankees' 9-5 victory over the Reds.
"In the pinstripes, hitting a home run on your home turf basically -- you live an hour away -- it's pretty memorable," Frazier said. "I know I'll be getting a lot of texts from all my Yankee fan friends. It was cool. My parents are happy, everybody's happy."

Acquired from the White Sox last week, Frazier enjoyed an eventful first two home games with the Yanks that included hitting into a triple play in Tuesday's 4-2 victory. Two busloads of friends and family made the 85-mile trek to witness that game, providing a formidable cheering section.
"That's baseball in a nutshell, man," Frazier said. "Hit into a triple play, do some funky stuff. You think you've seen everything in baseball, and then you do something like that."

The blast off Cingrani was Frazier's 17th of the season, following up on a campaign in which he slugged 40 homers with 98 RBIs for Chicago. Though Yankees security was unable to work out a trade for the ball as a souvenir, Frazier said that he tried to savor the moment as much as possible.
"You want to. Hopefully time stops for you a little bit," Frazier said. "It was a lot of fun. I kind of knew it was gone off the bat. It just made for an exciting two days here, coming home and just enjoying the moment. For us, [it was] two big wins, honestly."
Before grabbing his steering wheel, Frazier said that he was curious how radio announcer John Sterling had called the homer. He was informed that Sterling's personalized call had been, "He is the Toddfather! In Todd We Trust!"

"I can't wait to hear it. That's pretty sweet," Frazier said with a chuckle. "I know they said 'Downtown goes Frazier' for [Clint Frazier]. Either way, that's pretty cool, another little checkmark. One of those things that you can always look back on, to have a guy of his stature say that, that's pretty nice."
