The USA Baseball 18U National Team dominated again on Monday, firing its third straight shutout in a 5-0 win over South Africa.
Team USA, the three-time defending World Cup champions, improved to 4-0, joining Korea as the only unbeaten teams.
Including Monday's contest against South Africa, the United States pitching staff has not allowed a run in 33 2/3 innings, dating back to the first inning of the team's tournament opener against the Netherlands.
The team got on the board early thanks to a two-run home run by Jarred Kelenic in the top of the first inning. Anthony Seigler and Alek Thomas drove in runs in the sixth and seventh, before Will Banfield's solo home run in the ninth.
The United States will close out pool play at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday when it squares off against Cuba at Baseball Central.
