On the shelf
Tom Murphy, the club's No. 11 prospect, sustained a hairline fracture in his right forearm during the middle of Spring Training. The catcher is expected to miss four to six weeks and after beginning spring competing for a roster spot, he's beginning the season on the DL. Rayan Gonzalez will miss the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Ben Bowden and Sam Howard are rehabbing to start the season as well and should be good to go in a couple weeks.
