May 29th, 2017

Alec Hansen was absolutely dominant on Sunday as he struck out a career-high 15 in an 8-1 win for Class A Kannapolis over Greensboro.
Racking up strikeouts has never been a struggle for the White Sox No. 10 prospect. After Chicago selected Hansen in the second round of the 2016 Draft, the righty fanned 81 over 54 2/3 innings in his professional debut.
Hansen has continued to generate plenty of strikeouts in 2017, totaling 67 across 54 2/3 innings, including 25 over his past two starts.
Control has been an issue for Hansen at times, but when he is able to locate, he is capable of taking over a game, which was apparent in Sunday's outing.
Hansen threw 76 of his 99 pitches for strikes and didn't walk a single batter as he gave up one run on five hits over seven innings.
The 22-year-old wasted no time compiling the strikeouts as he struck out the first batter of the game. Hansen struck out five in a row across the second and third innings and struck out at least two in six of the seven innings he pitched.
Hansen's previous career high was 13 strikeouts, set with Rookie-level Great Falls last season, and he has notched double-digit strikeouts in five of his 22 career starts.
