August 15th, 2018

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox announced details for celebrations honoring Ken "Hawk" Harrelson and his final season in the broadcast booth.
A five-time Emmy Award winner, three-time Ford Frick Award nominee and two-time Illinois Sportscaster of the Year, Harrelson is working a 20-game schedule during the 2018 season, including Sunday home games and other select contests. After stepping away from the booth, Harrelson will serve the organization as a White Sox ambassador starting in the 2019 season, which will mark the beginning of his eighth decade in baseball.
Hawk Day at Guaranteed Rate Field
The White Sox invite fans to celebrate Harrelson during a special pregame ceremony on Hawk Day on Sunday, September 2. The first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark will receive a Hawk Harrelson Nesting Doll. The giveaway commemorates a different phase of Hawk's career in each doll, depicting Hawk as a broadcaster with a headset, as a front office executive wearing his cowboy hat and as a player donning his Red Sox uniform. In addition, fans can check in to the MLB Ballpark App on Hawk Day to receive a "Hawk Day" magnet in the Revolution Brewing #SoxSocial Taproom, while supplies last. Fan-favorite catcher A.J. Pierzynski also is scheduled to join Hawk as the special broadcast guest during this game.
"Hawk" Documentary Screening
The White Sox and NBC Sports Chicago have teamed up to produce a documentary chronicling Hawk's life and career. The documentary, titled "Hawk," will be shown during a private screening on September 6 at ArcLight Cinemas (1500 N. Clybourn Ave, Chicago), featuring appearances by special guests as well as a Q&A with Hawk and the directors. A limited number of tickets are available through the "He Gone" for Charity sweepstakes. Entries to win are available at whitesox.com/hawk. The documentary will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on September 13 exclusively on NBC Sports Chicago, NBCSportsChicago.com and on the NBC Sports app.
"He Gone" for Charity Sweepstakes
Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) will hold the "He Gone" For Charity sweepstakes, giving one lucky fan the opportunity to join Hawk and special guests on field during the September 2 ceremony. All fans who enter the sweepstakes will take home a piece of Hawk memorabilia, ranging from Hawk T-shirts and hats to baseballs autographed by Hawk as well as tickets to the September 6 private documentary screening. The sweepstakes will take place at whitesox.com/hawk from 10 a.m. on Monday, August 13, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 19. All proceeds from "He Gone" for Charity will benefit CWSC and its mission to make Chicago a better place to live, work and play.
Hawk's Final Broadcast
Hawk will sign off for the last time in the White Sox broadcast booth following the Sunday, September 23, game vs. the Cubs at 1:10 p.m. on NBC Sports Chicago.
Tickets are available at whitesox.com, the Guaranteed Rate Field box office (Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.) or by calling 866-SOX-GAME.
