Prior to tonight's game, the Chicago White Sox returned right-handed pitcher Jake Petricka from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day disabled list. Petricka takes the roster spot of right-hander Anthony Swarzak, who earlier today was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor-league outfielder Ryan Cordell.
Petricka, 29, made five rehab appearances with Charlotte after being placed on the disabled list on June 29 with a right elbow strain.
Petricka is 1-0 with a 9.28 ERA (11 ER/10.2 IP) and 13 strikeouts in nine appearances with the Sox in 2017. He also was on the disabled list from April 5-June 8 with a right lat strain.
