Sheffield looks to keep rolling for Thunder

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Daniel Johnson (Nationals No. 29), Hagerstown at Lexington (6:35 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Johnson, the Nationals' fifth-round pick in 2016, connected on his sixth home run of the season on Friday for Class A Hagerstown, hitting a two-run shot in the third inning before finishing 2-for-4. He's hitting .296 through 20 games, and his six homers rank second in the South Atlantic League.
Pitcher to watch: (Yankees No. 6), Trenton vs. Erie (7 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Sheffield, baseball's No. 73 overall prospect, has allowed just three earned runs in his first three starts of the year for Double-A Trenton. He's held opposing hitters to a .177 average and struck out 16 in 17 1/3 innings.

Duel of the day: (Mariners No. 5) vs. Jack Flaherty (Cardinals No. 8), Arkansas at Springfield (7:10 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Povse enters the day with a 3-1 record and a 1.82 ERA in four starts for Double-A Arkansas. The 23-year-old right-hander won his first three starts, but took the loss in his last outing, giving up four earned runs on seven hits in six innings. He's set to make his fourth straight road start for the Travelers.

Flaherty has been one of the Minor Leagues' top pitchers in the first month of the season, going 4-0 with a 0.33 ERA in four starts for Springfield. The 21-year-old right-hander is coming off of back-to-back scoreless performances, and he's allowed just one earned run in 27 1/3 innings.
