PHOENIX -- slugged a two-run homer and added a two-run double in a six-run fourth inning as the Dodgers beat the Reds, 6-5, on Tuesday at Camelback Ranch-Glendale.
Rich Hill started for the Dodgers and allowed one run on one hit in 3 2/3 innings, but he struggled with his fastball command and issued three four-pitch walks to go with three strikeouts.
, contending for a Cincinnati rotation spot, was charged with five runs and five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings. , who is also in the mix, went two scoreless frames with a strikeout.
"It was a tale of two outings," said Adleman, who began with three scoreless innings. "I hate to go out on that note. Still, there were a lot of positives about today. I will take a lot from the first three innings, scrap the last one and get ready for the next opportunity whenever that is."

Grandal collected two hits and is batting .433 this spring. Chris Taylor -- contending for the Dodgers' backup shortstop job and getting plenty of playing time with injured and at the World Baseball Classic -- recorded two more hits and is 11-for-22 in Cactus League play.
The Reds scored on a two-out run in the fourth on a walk by , an errant pickoff attempt by Hill and a single by Zack Cozart. They added a run off Dodgers closer in the fifth on 's RBI single.
"Kenley's fine," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "Leadoff walk, gave up the flare. Right now, where we're at in the calendar, 21 pitches was good enough for him. He's a tick down [in velocity]."
Cincinnati cut the deficit on 's two-run single off Dodgers reliever Josh Fields in the eighth and 's RBI single in the ninth, but the rally fell short.
"The velocity is not where it is in the middle of the regular season," Roberts said of Fields. "He's 92-93 [mph] now, last year he was 92-95. He pitches up, but now the pitches are being spoiled. The breaking ball has been inconsistent. He's still building arm strength. We didn't have Josh last spring, but when we got him in the middle of the season, his velocity was there."
