March 6th, 2019

The Oakland A’s today announced Ross Stores as a founding partner of the Oakland A’s Community Fund. As a founding partner, Ross Stores will play an integral role in the A’s educational community efforts, with a specific focus on literacy programs, providing support and resources to help the Club extend its reach in Oakland and the East Bay.

As part of the three-year partnership with the Oakland A’s Community Fund, Ross Stores will be the presenting partner of the A’s Home Run Readers program, which encourages students to achieve their reading goals by offering A’s incentives to registered classrooms. Ross Stores will also serve as the presenting partner for Teacher Appreciation Night, which celebrates teachers from across the Bay Area by offering them two complimentary tickets to a select A’s game.

“We are proud to team up with Ross Stores and thank them for their support of the Oakland A’s Community Fund,” said Catherine Aker, A’s vice president of Community. “Together, we will be able to make an even greater impact in the East Bay and continue to expand our literacy programs like Home Run Readers.”

“As a company headquartered in the Bay Area, we are proud to support the academic achievement of local students through the work of the Oakland A’s Community Fund,” said Michael O’Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer of Ross Stores.

Ross Stores joins Chevron and Kaiser Permanente as founding partners of the Oakland A’s Community Fund. To learn more about the A’s work in the community, visit athletics.com/community.
